Boudoir Photography – Frequently Asked Questions
The thought of a boudoir session can be scary. When talking to women about their session, I get asked all kinds of questions, so I wanted to put a list together of the most frequently asked questions for you! Hopefully this will help provide insight.
Do you share my images?
Our number one priority is making sure our clients are comfortable, especially when it comes to boudoir. It can be a life changing experience! (It can also be a bit nerve wracking!) Sometimes, you are learning to love your body, and you aren’t quite ready to share the images with the world. Sometimes these photos are specifically designed for your eyes only. Either way, it depends on your personal preferences. I offer clients the opportunity to choose if/how their photos can be shared. It’s up to you! (But of course, I do love to share the beauty!)
Do I have to wear lingerie?
You definitely don’t have to wear lingerie, but you can! It’s up to you and your vision. Don’t worry if you’re not sure what to do yet… I’ll help you all along the way so you are confident and comfortable in what you’re wearing and that will translate to your finished portraits!
Do you have payment plans?
We sure do! You have a retainer to pay to hold your spot on our calendars. The balance will be due 2 weeks prior to your shoot. If you want more time to pay off your shoot, we can schedule it a few months out, and pay it off in payments. Let me know if this is something that you’d like to set up.
Is hair and makeup included?
Professional hair and makeup are included! It’s important for you to feel glamorous and pampered, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that. Our amazing artists will work with you to enhance your natural beauty, while creating a look that is just for you!
Do you Photoshop my images?
I do edit your images for light, exposure, and color balance. I do not edit anything out that is permanent. I think it can be damaging to have a boudoir session, and then edit out parts of you that make you who you are. Part of the process of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty also means not photoshopping out parts you aren’t happy with right now. If there are parts of yourself that you’re learning to love, that’s ok! We are skilled in posing and lighting to make you look your absolute best and capturing your inner beauty!
Where should I buy outfits?
There are several places to buy from. Think about what your vision is first. Then consider the style of what you want to wear. Many of my clients have been very happy with items purchased from amazon.com and shein.com, but you could also consider curvykate.com and hipsandcurves.com! If you’re looking for something specific, let me know and I’ll help you find it!
What types of print products do you have?
We offer a variety of albums and luxury items that are a perfect gift for yourself or someone you love. I personally love the feel of picking up the fine wall art and seeing it on my walls! It’s glorious!
Do you offer digitals?
All of our collections include print products, but there are some that offer some digital images and there is a digital only collection. These digitals would come in a private online gallery for you to download and share.
I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?
Nerves are all part of the experience! The nervousness in the beginning of your shoot makes your moment of WOW seeing your images for the first time so much better!
How many outfits should I bring?
We will have up to three hours to shoot, so most go through about 3-5 outfits/looks. Bring more if you can’t decide and we can go through them together to finalize the looks!
Should I get to my shoot early?
Plan on being there about 10 minutes early. This will allow us to talk to you about all of the details of the day!
Do you have a studio?
I currently work out of my home and rent studio spaces around the DFW area based on your aesthetic. What that means is that your images will be uniquely you!!!
